Ronald Allen – Sr. Director, Environmental, Safety and Health and Quality
Ron Allen is Senior Director of Environmental Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) for the Imperial Sugar Company. He brings a wealth of experience in establishing management processes that achieve superior ESHQ results.
In his current position, Allen oversees all aspects of safety, environmental, health, quality and food safety at each of Imperial Sugar’s facilities. He is applying his expertise in raising safety awareness across the enterprise and getting employees to work together to drive safer, higher-quality performance.
He is instrumental in the company’s important research and development to introduce new industry safety standards for combustible dust created in the sugar refining process – as well as create the world’s most advanced and safest sugar refineries for workers and food production.
Previously, Allen served as senior manager for environmental, health and safety at the Eaton Corporation’s truck components group. Before Eaton, he directed the global environmental, health and safety process for Emerson Electric Company’s Fisher Controls division. His background also includes management assignments with Monsanto Company and FMC Corporation. In those past roles, he successfully introduced injury-reduction efforts and voluntary protection programs at a number of production facilities.
Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in education from West Liberty State College and a master’s degree in safety management from West Virginia University. He is a registered professional engineer, a certified safety professional and a certified professional environmental auditor.
