Louis T. Bolognini – Senior Vice President Secretary and General Counsel
Louis Bolognini is Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel for Imperial Sugar Company. In addition to managing the company’s legal affairs, he serves as primary legal advisor to CEO and President John Sheptor, the company’s senior management team and the board of directors.
As general counsel, Bolognini provides legal direction on major contracts, transactions and securities compliance, and oversees litigation. He has an extensive background in the specialty chemicals business, including industrial chemicals and consumer products. His experience encompasses mergers and acquisitions, antitrust/competition law, environmental and trade regulation, real estate and employment.
Before Imperial Sugar, he served as vice president and general counsel for BioLab, Inc., a pools-and-spa manufacturing and marketing company. He also concurrently held the position of assistant general counsel of consumer products for Chemtura Corporation, BioLab’s parent company.
Previously, Bolognini served as assistant general counsel for Great Lakes Chemical Corporation and as a litigation attorney in the full-service law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath. Bolognini holds a law degree from the University of Toledo.
