Imperial Sugar Partners with Luzianne Tea

Thanks to a promotion at Walmart stores across the south featuring a special iced tea blended Luzianne Green Tea that was sweetened with Imperial Sugar and Dixie Crystals, people of all ages had a chance to try and enjoy the healthy benefits of drinking green iced tea on a hot summer day.

What could be a more natural, refreshing drink these hot summer months than a glass of iced green tea with pure cane sugar?

That’s what consumers are getting a chance to sample at select Walmart stores as Imperial Sugar Company (ISC) teams up with Reily Foods Company to promote its Luzianne Green Tea.

Product demos featuring Luzianne Green Tea and Imperial Sugar and Dixie Crystals side by side are rolling out in 80 Walmart stores across Texas, Louisiana and Florida July 29 through Aug. 2.

“We stand to gain increased awareness of Imperial specialty products as we partner with the maker of the No. 2 branded bag iced tea in the U.S.,” says Hyuna Lee, senior marketing manager for Imperial Sugar. “For the last 52 weeks, Luzianne is the fastest growing iced tea brand – and the only branded iced tea that’s still growing.”

“The partnership with Imperial/Dixie Crystals is the perfect fit and we are excited about the event,” says Ashlee Dunn, associate marketing manager at Reily Foods Company.

Like the rest of Luzianne tea products, Luzianne Green Tea is specially blended for iced tea. And it’s 100 percent all natural, as are Imperial Sugar and Dixie Crystals.

Originally launched in early 2009, Luzianne Green Tea has ranked seventh in U.S. sales among other green teas for the last 24 weeks ending in July. The top four items found in the same basket of Walmart shoppers who purchase the 24-count of Luzianne Tea are sugar – making for a sweet co-branded partnership between Imperial and Luzianne products.
