Nakisha Hill: Savannah Roots, People She Loves
isc | May 25, 2010
If there’s one person who knows just about everything that moves into Imperial Sugar’s large Port Wentworth, Ga., sugar refinery, it is Nakisha Hill. It’s her job … as the company’s Receiving Clerk.
Ask Nakisha what she likes most about the plant, and she replies instantly with a smile that she loves the people.
Nakisha has worked at Imperial Sugar three years, handling everything that arrives for the plant, from machine parts and new stock items that keep the plant running smoothly to computers and company cell phones.
She grew up in Savannah, the oldest of nine children in her family. She has seven brothers and one sister. Her father is now retired from SunTrust Bank, and her mother is a dietician at Savannah Specialties. Nakisha graduated from South University in Savannah, and her husband is a truck driver.
Entering her office at the company’s Receiving Department, it’s hard not to have all your troubles of the day just melt away … with a few friendly words and a smile from Nikisha Hill.
