My husband is a born and raised Texan, who was in love with the Imperial Sugar sweetened Dr.Pepper, we moved from Texas to California 5 years ago and therefore had not had any of the Dublin DP for years. Now having tried the Heritage DP it is better than the HFCS version but still not as good as Dublin DP, so for my husbands birthday I had a case of Dublin DP shipped from Old Docs Soda Company. I would love to do it more often but the cost prohibits it (almost $50.00 with shipping). I would be more than willing to pay more on a regular basis if I could get it in the local supermarket shelves made with REAL CANE SUGAR not beet sugar and not HFCS.

Heritage Dr Pepper is a limited time product to celebrate Dr Pepper’s 125 years in business.

Dublin Dr Pepper will remain the same as it has always been, made with Real Imperial Cane Sugar.

I personally Love the real imperial sugar Dr. pepper from Dublin Tx. one of the original’s and I hope this new Heritage doesn’t take away from that.

Living in Sugar Land, TX I’ve gotten kind of used to being able to get Dr. Pepper with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar even before the Heritage Dr. Pepper promotion. Last May I moved up to West Houston to take care of my parents but every month I’d drive down to Sugar Land to stock up on Dr. Pepper. Last month all I could find were the 12-packs of 12 oz. cans, no plastic bottles. This month I can’t even find those and no space on the shelves where they might be sold out. Please tell me they haven’t stopped making the stuff? I’d prefer to stick with Dr. Pepper but I’ll switch to Jones Soda before I go back to drinking HFCS.

It’s not cane sugar… it’s beet sugar. That’s why it tastes different from Dublin. (still better than HFCS, of course!)

Thank you for taking time to share your comment. This is sweet music to our ears because Imperial Sugar supplies to pure cane sugar for Dr. Pepper, and we are proud of our relationship with the legendary brand.

I suspect that demand for soft drinks sweetened with cane sugar is behind the shortage you encountered … but imagine they will be restocked soon.

I think the new Heritage Dr Pepper is fabulous. This is the only soda I drink and was hesitant to try something new but I am glad I did. I hope they don’t stop making it. I was actually very disappointed that the store I bought my first bottle from was sold out when I stopped in for more. I think I’m going to go get one now…

I’ve been enjoying Heritage DP in Virginia for several weeks now. I grew up on Dr. Pepper going back to the mid-1950′s, but I haven’t liked the thick, HFCS version of it. Heritage DP does not overpower you. The individual flavors come through, and it’s wonderful and refreshing. I’m sick of HFCS being put in everything we eat and drink.

Happy to see all the positive comments on Heritage and Dublin Dr Pepper. It is nice to be able to work on a project that helps both my current and former employers.

Heritage is planned as a limited time product, but if it has great success in the market, it could become permanent, so drink up !

I love the Heritage Dr Pepper, as of today 2/18/10 could not find it in any local store. I really hope you continue to make & put in the local stores. I was an avid COKE drinker all my life & when I tried the Heritage Dr Pepper I was hooked I do not want any thing else COKE is not even a close 2nd, PLEASE cont to make & sell. Someone said I could order from the Company in Texas, but how much will I have to pay for the drinks + shipping because I purchase at least 6 to 10; 12 packs a week….really hope you continue HERITAGE DR PEPPER for all of your happy customers.
