Holiday Recipes, Imperial Hit the Airwaves
isc | Dec 16, 2009
Looking for a really yummy, tried-and-true cookie recipe for the holidays? Well, you just might find one through the clever holiday cookie exchange Imperial Sugar Company is sponsoring with Sunny 99.1 radio station in Houston.
Using the station’s Web site, listeners upload their favorite holiday cookie recipes – sometimes handed down for generations – and download new ones.
WLIT, Sunny’s sister station in Chicago, has hosted a cookie exchange for the past few years and, because of its success, it was decided to bring it into the Houston market as well.
According to Hyuna Lee, brand manager for Imperial, the cookie exchange presented the opportunity to generate additional exposure for Imperial Sugar’s 2009 holiday campaign. Banner ads promoting Imperial granulated sugar are featured on the Sunny Web site, with radio spots running on air during the station’s regular programming.
Sunny radio personality Dana Tyson said: “Not only is Imperial Sugar the only sugar that I use in all my baking, but now I really love them. Why? Because they helped us put together The Cookie Exchange – every cookie recipe ever created in alphabetical order. Thank you, Imperial Sugar, for making this busy working mom’s life just a little sweeter.”
The cookie exchange runs through the end of the year. So there’s still time to check out the collection of holiday cookie recipes and share one of your own favorites. Don’t live in the Houston area? No problem … check the station’s Web site.
