Imperial CEO: Sugar Prices May Spike Higher

World sugar prices, already near two-decade highs, are poised to soar even higher because of problems plaguing the cane crop in top producer Brazil and imports by leading consumer India, Imperial Sugar Company President and CEO John Sheptor has told Reuters News Service.
Attending the annual meeting of the industry group American Sugar Alliance, Sheptor said that the prospect of even higher sugar imports by India and production problems caused by excessively wet conditions in Brazil should keep values well supported.
